Robert Nevel is an architect, urban farmer and pioneer in the food justice and sustainability movement. He sits on the Board of Advocates For Urban Agriculture and is the immediate past president of KAM Isaiah Israel Congregation in Chicago. In 2009 Robert founded the award winning, nationally recognized, Food Justice and Sustainability Program at KAMII. The program is focused on transforming unproductive urban spaces into micro-farms and food forests, improving access to fresh food, teaching urban agriculture and sustainability skills and advocating for healthy food systems and responsible energy, land and water use.
Robert was keynote speaker at the American Community Gardening Association 35th Annual Conference presenting on ‘Rescuing Land & Food for Communities in Need’
